Skin care hacks while travelling

Written by Pranjali Pathak

We all love travelling and exploring different places, don’t we? But this adventure comes at a cost of a lot of skin problems such as tanning, drying out of the skin, random burst outs, etc. Here we’ll be discussing some life (skin) care hacks to keep your skin healthy while travelling.

Tip #1: BEWARE of the Sun!

The main problem we all face when travelling is skin tanning. It’s too difficult to confine ourselves indoor just to save our skin from the harsh sun right? That is when a Sunscreen comes handy. Sunscreen protects the skin from the UV radiations of the sun and if you live in India then sunscreen is a must no matter how far/near your travel destination is.

Some major complaints with sunscreen are that it makes the skin oily and difficult to manage for people already suffering from oily skin problems. The solution to that is to use a non-oily or matte sunscreen. A matte sunscreen will protect the skin from the UV radiations without making the skin oily.

Tip #2: Wash out the impurities

The main objective of skincare is to keep the skin free of the dirt and dust from the surrounding. Keep a face wash handy in your handbag and make sure you wash your face thrice in a day. Also showering twice in a day, in the morning and evening, will also help to keep your body clean.

The other advantage is that a morning shower would refresh you for the day’s adventure and an evening shower would help you get good stress-free sleep.

Tip #3: Get that hydration

Another hack for skincare during travelling is to make sure that you drink lots of water. As there are more chances to lose water through sweating while travelling, keeping oneself hydrated would help overcome nausea along with clearing the skin.

Tip #4: Moisturize

Moisturize your skin every night to keep your skin hydrated throughout the day’s adventures. Choose a moisturizer that best suits your skin type depending upon the texture.

Tip #5: Wipe off the dirt

It is necessary to keep your face clean and protected from the dirt and pollution on the roads. The best way to do that is to keep cleansing your face using wet tissues.

Make sure you wipe your face clean as many times of the day as you feel depending on the surroundings you are into.

Tip #6: Ward off the germs

I know it’s not possible to be able to wash your skin soo often so the best and hassle-free solution to keep your skin clean is to use a sanitizer.

A sanitizer is a quick way to get rid of germs on your hands and your skin, keeping the skin cleansed throughout.

Tip #7: Get your head covered!

Tip #8: Eat plenty of good food

In order to get your skin glowing and fresh during travel, it is very necessary to have a balanced and nutritious diet. A proper amount of nutrients would help keep the skin healthy during the tour.

Tip #9: Glare’em up!

It is advisable to wear sunglasses whenever you step out in order to protect your eyes from the UV rays of the sun. Apart from that sunglasses also work as a protective layer over your eyes.

Tip #10: Don’t forget your lips

Don’t overlook your lips, they need the care too! You must use an SPF proof chapstick to prevent the blackening of the lips. Many flavours are available nowadays and you might also not regret eating upon them a little bit!

Tip #11: Have a good night’s sleep

A proper sleep would help get rid of the puffiness under the eyes. Having a good sleep would also ward off dark circles. So make sure you sleep early in order to wake up fresh and beautiful.

Tip #12: Make it upright

Shin care hack 12, While travelling make sure you apply a primer first before applying a foundation. A primer would work as a layer of protection between the skin and makeup and would keep the make-up stay put during the day without dehydrating the skin.
