Written by Ardra M B

Rajasthan has made a significant move to enhance tourism by introducing the country’s inaugural luxury electric boat rides on the scenic Ana Sagar Lake in Ajmer. This fresh e-cruise venture provides a lavish and environmentally friendly means to enjoy the splendor of this ancient lake. Board Craft Private Limited has invested a total of Rs 5 crore in this project. A unique feature of this e-cruise is that it is constructed using fiber rather than heavy iron, allowing it to be lightweight and ideal for maneuvering in shallow waters, with a depth of as little as four feet. This groundbreaking vessel is not only a pioneer in India but also aims to provide passengers with a luxurious experience while prioritizing environmental conservation. P Dadhich, the owner of the e-cruise, stated that the boat was built by Board Craft Private Limited in Goa for Rs 5 crore. This is the first e-cruise in the country to be made of fiber instead of iron. Its light weight enables it to navigate in waters as shallow as four feet.

The luxury e-cruise is a two-story boat that spans 22 meters in length. The lower level is fully air-conditioned, providing a cool and pleasant journey for guests, particularly in the warmer months. Conversely, the upper deck features outdoor seating and a dance floor, making it ideal for hosting private functions like birthdays, DJ nights, or simply taking in the beautiful sights of Ana Sagar Lake. Accommodating up to 150 passengers, with 75 on each level, the e-cruise offers ample space for travelers to relish the opulent experience. A dedicated kitchen onboard offers a variety of cuisines, including continental fare, fast food, and freshly squeezed juices, ensuring guests can savor delicious meals while onboard. Separate bathrooms for males and females are available to ensure passenger comfort. The electric-powered cruises at Ana Sagar Lake use batteries to operate, which makes them eco-friendly. In addition to running on electricity, there are plans to add solar panels to the boat to further enhance its sustainability.   The cruises also come equipped with bio-toilets, reducing their impact on the environment.   This project not only offers a luxurious experience for passengers but also helps in protecting the environment by reducing harmful emissions and showcasing responsible tourism.

Amenities

For entertainment and amenities, passengers on the e-cruise can enjoy not only a smooth ride but also a variety of entertainment choices. The dance floor on the upper deck is a popular feature, perfect for those who want to dance and listen to music while cruising. The stunning lake views, together with the lively atmosphere on the cruise, create a memorable and one-of-a-kind experience for all aboard.

Historic Significance of Ana Sagar Lake

The historical importance of Ana Sagar Lake, where this luxurious e-cruise takes place, lies in its deep-rooted past. Constructed between 1135 and 1150 AD by Arnoraja, the grandfather of the renowned Rajput ruler Prithviraj Chauhan, the lake has evolved into a popular destination in Ajmer. The Mughal rulers have also contributed to the lake’s heritage. Emperor Jahangir established the Daulat Bagh gardens adjacent to the lake, while Emperor Shah Jahan erected five marble pavilions, named Baradari, linking the garden with the lake. As a result of these enhancements, Ana Sagar Lake is not only a natural marvel but also a valuable historical treasure.

Ticket rate

Ticket rates for this cruise are INR 350 for adults and INR 250 for children. The voyage spans approximately one hour, allowing travelers to fully appreciate the lake’s beauty, utilize the onboard amenities, and unwind. This cruise ensures a harmonious mix of relaxation, sightseeing, and amusement for all passengers.

How to Reach Ana Sagar Lake

Situated roughly 5 km away from the heart of Ajmer, Ana Sagar Lake can be accessed in about 13 minutes by taking the Pushkar road. Taxis can be hailed from any part of the city for a direct ride to the lake. Those looking for a more economical choice can consider taking an auto rickshaw, a readily accessible mode of transport in the city.
