  1. Birdwatching at spice plantations

While beaches are usually crowded and noisy, how about going for birdwatching in the Goan spice plantations?

You can get to spot more than 75 species of birds in these plantations. An elephant ride is another attraction over here. Also, you can see elephants bathing and be a part of that activity.

  1. Trekking at Dudhsagar Falls

The trekking trail to Dudhsagar Falls begins from Kulem or Castle Rock. Legends have it that a princess was taking bath at this spot when she noticed that a prince was watching. Consequently, she dropped a milk curtain to obscure the view. The place was therefore named as Dudhsagar Falls.

  1. Devil’s Canyon

It’s a picturesque river with perilous water currents. According to old beliefs, a devil had cursed the canyon and that’s the reason no fishing or swimming is possible here. Several swimmers have lost their lives to the flow of the river. Those vibes are still alive, it seems.

  1. Chorao Island

Hiking atop the Chorao Gill is something photographers cannot miss out on. The view is simply amazing. Migratory birds can also be spotted here.

  1. Butterfly Conservatory

With love birds, turtles, and butterflies abound, Butterfly Conservatory of Goa is an awesome place to be with family. Early morning is the best time to visit this place.

  1. Kayaking in Backwaters

Go Kayaking in the tranquil backwaters of Goa early in the morning and spot the different species of birds. Also, watch out for eagles and bats while doing so.

  1. Goan Caves

15-16 centuries Arvalem or Pandavas caves are old rock-cut caves in Goa that have managed to attract scores of archeologists and tourists. Harvalem Waterfalls and Rudreshwar Temple are the must-visit places near the caves. You can even have a glimpse of rock-cut caves at Khandepar, 35 kilometers from Panjim.

  1. Try out Poi at Village Bakery

You ought to try Poi or in other words wheat bread while at Goa. Having hot breads prepared in an earthen oven is once in a lifetime opportunity. Bangle bread, butterfly bread, and white bread are other varieties available here.

  1. Panjim to Pomburpa Drive

You can explore the unexploited parts of Panjim on your two-wheeler. That’s my dream too! Other than that, you can go on a drive to Pomburpa from Panjim. The lush green meadows, paddy fields, and fishermen at work amidst the backwaters make the drive all the more alluring.

  1. Island Hopping

Last but not the least, island hopping through lush green meadows, villages, Portuguese splendor, and traditional baked food items is also one of the most offbeat things to do in Goa.

Besides all these, if you are a shopaholic, Saturday Night Bazaar at Arpora is the place to be. You can enjoy live music along with drool-worthy food and drinks over here.
