The Sar Pass Trek, which is situated 13,800 feet above sea level, is a photographers’ and artists’ dream come true and presents the splendor of a lush, green environment. The Sar Pass walk offers some of the most picturesque sights, including woods, meadows, and ice blankets, all set against a backdrop of towering Himalayan peaks covered in snow.

For reaching Kasol, there are various options available, each with its own advantages.

  • By Air: If you prefer air travel, flying to Bhuntar Airport is an option, although we discourage it due to the high fares and frequent flight cancellations. However, if you still decide to fly to Bhuntar, reaching Kasol from there is a short distance away, and you can easily find transportation by bus or private taxi. In this case, it is recommended to arrive at least a day before the trek’s starting date. A better alternative is to fly to Chandigarh Airport and then take a bus to Kasol.
  • By Rail: Another option is traveling by train and disembarking at Pathankot railway station, which is approximately 300 km away from Kasol. From there, you can catch direct buses to Kullu or Kasol, and the journey usually takes overnight. It is advisable to reach Kasol a day prior to your planned trip.
  • By Road: If you prefer traveling by road, one popular choice is to embark on an overnight bus journey from either Delhi or Chandigarh. You have two routes to consider. The first one involves reaching Chandigarh first and then catching a bus to Kasol, which typically takes around 10 hours. Alternatively, you can opt to first arrive in Kullu and then hire a private taxi or shuttle bus to reach Kasol. Following this path, you would take an overnight bus to Kullu and then proceed to Kasol by taxi or shuttle bus. It is worth noting that when departing from the bus station, it is advisable to choose government-run buses over private ones, as the former are more reliable and less prone to delays. Regardless of the route you select, it is crucial to ensure that you arrive in Kasol no later than 9 a.m.

If you are considering a trip to Kasol, you have several choices at your disposal, each with its own merits. Regardless of the route you decide on, it is essential to meticulously plan your journey in advance and ensure that you arrive in Kasol with ample time to fully enjoy your trip.
