Covid-19 State Wise Guidelines: Latest Updates, Travel News and More (2022)

The country has been hit with a new wave of anxiety as the news about a new variant of Covid-19 called Omicron is doing the rounds. As of now, the government has issued certain guidelines to make sure that the public remains cautious and doesn’t panic. Every state has been following certain rules when it comes to letting travelers enter their state ever since Covid-19 hit us and the new variant has just ensured that the same rules are being followed with more strictness. 

Himachal Pradesh

Lockdown Status: No lockdown imposed.

Institutional Quarantine: 14 days , if coming from RED zones.

Inter-State Movement: Allowed.

Test Required: RT-PCR (Test conducted within 72 Hours). Thermal Screening on Arrival.

Additional Requirement: Arogya setu app downloaded on the phone.

Uttarakhand

Lockdown Status: No lockdown imposed.

Institutional Quarantine: 7 days (for passengers arriving from high load COVID-19 infected cities -31
Districts). Government facility at no charge, alternatively paid quarantine
at designated hotels

Inter-State Movement: Allowed.

Test Required: RT-PCR (Test conducted within the state).

Additional Requirement: Vaccination certificate. All passengers travelling to Uttarakhand need to register on state website: https://dsclservices.in/uttarakhand-migrantregistration.php

Rajasthan

Lockdown Status: No lockdown imposed. Night curfew starts from 11pm to 5am.

Institutional Quarantine: No quarantine.

Inter-State Movement: Allowed

Test Required: Not required if you have gotten the first dose of vaccine.

Additional Requirement: None. 

Meghalaya

Lockdown Status: No lockdown imposed.

Institutional Quarantine: 48 hrs.

Inter-State Movement: Allowed.

Test Required: RT-PCR (Test conducted at the entry point).

Additional Requirement: Download the Arogya Setu app and the Behavioural Change Management app of Meghalaya from Google play store or App store. Register on the Meghalaya portal at https://meghalaya.gov.in/  to generate e-invites for tourists.

Delhi

Lockdown Status: No lockdown imposed. Yellow code alert in place. Night curfew from 10 pm to 5 am.

Institutional Quarantine: 7 days for international passengers. Government facility at no charge,
alternatively paid quarantine at designated hotels.

Inter-State Movement: Allowed.

Test Required: Thermal screening on arrival for all passengers.

Additional Requirement: Registration on Arogya Setu App.

Maharashtra

Lockdown Status: No lockdown imposed. Night curfew in place in most cities from 10 pm to 6am.

Institutional Quarantine: NA

Inter – State Movement: Allowed

Test Required: Thermal screening on Arrival for all passengers.

Additional Requirement: Registration on the Aarogya Setu app. Furnish self-declaration
on arrival.

Tamil Nadu

Lockdown Status: No lockdown imposed.

Institutional Quarantine: 14 days (only if home quarantine facility is not available for passengers)

Inter-State Movement: Allowed.

Test Required: All passengers coming from the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat & Delhi
will be tested for COVID upon arrival.

Additional Requirement: Register on the Arogya setu app. All passengers travelling to Tamil Nadu need to register on the state website and apply for TN e-pass: https://tnepass.tnega.org/

Andhra Pradesh

Lockdown Status: No lockdown imposed.

Institutional Quarantine: 7 days (Passengers coming from MAA, BOM, DEL, Gujarat, Rajasthan & Madhya
Pradesh)

Inter-State Movement: Allowed.

Test Required: Thermal Screening on Arrival. Passengers are taken to designated test center for swab test. No test at Airport

Additional Requirement: Registration on Spandana website, Arogya Setu App.

Bihar

Lockdown Status: No lockdown imposed.

Institutional Quarantine: No quarantine

Inter-State Movement: Allowed.

Test Required: Thermal screening on Arrival.

Additional Requirement: Arogya setu app downloaded on the phone.

Arunachal Pradesh

Lockdown Status: No lockdown imposed.

Institutional Quarantine: NA

Inter-State Movement: Allowed.

Test Required: Negative RT-PCR report and vaccination certificate is required.

Additional Requirement: Not Applicable.

Punjab

Lockdown Status: No lockdown imposed.

Institutional Quarantine: 7 days (For International passengers Only)

Inter-State Movement: Allowed.

Test Required: Negative RT-PCR report (Test conducted within 72 Hours) and Vaccination Certificate (2 doses required. Random samples to be taken (20%)

Additional Requirement: Arogya setu app downloaded on the phone. Before boarding, passenger to register on COVA Punjab app.

West Bengal

Lockdown Status: Partial Lockdown extended till 15th January.

Institutional Quarantine: NA

Inter-State Movement: No movement allowed between 10 PM and 5 AM.

Test Required: RT-PCR (Test conducted within 72 Hours).

Additional Requirement: Arogya setu app downloaded on the phone. Fill up and submit the declaration form using Sandhane App developed by H&FW Department West Bengal:

Uttar Pradesh

Lockdown Status:  No lockdown imposed. Night curfew from 10pm to 6am.

Institutional Quarantine: 7 days (For International passengers only)

Inter-State Movement: Allowed. Public places to function at 50% capacity.

Test Required: Not required if carrying vaccination certificate.

Additional Requirement: Registration on Arogya Setu App. Passenger will need to register on the state website before they exit the arrival hall: https://reg.upcovid.in or call 1800-180-5145

Tripura

Lockdown Status: No lockdown imposed

Institutional Quarantine: Passengers with foreign travel history in the last 28 days to be kept in
institutional quarantine till results are declared.

Inter-State Movement: Allowed 

Test Required: Thermal screening on Arrival. Random sample collection (Every 5th passenger)

Additional Requirement: Arogya setu app downloaded on the phone.
