Ans: Yumthang is located at an elevation of 3,500 metres above sea-level and some precautions must be taken because Yumthang has almost no medical facilities available nearby. It is located at a distance of 148 kms from Gangtok.
Ans: You can not reach directly to the Yumthang Valley. You will have to first reach Gangtok to take permission for visiting the valley then you can visit Yumthang Valley via Lachung. It will take approximately 6 hours to reach Yumthang Valley from Gangtok so it’s better to stay in Lachung a day before.
