Arunachal Pradesh, one of the northeastern states of India is always spoken about with words of awe and amaze. 1.Monastery city Tawang

The biggest attraction in Tawang is the Tawang Monastery, one of the largest monasteries in Asia, and the second-largest in the world. Regardless of a guest being a Buddhist or otherwise, the monastery will impress you with its aesthetics.

The Tawang Monastery is one of the best hands-on cultural experiences, where you learn the Tibetian culture through experience. Fun Fact, while in Tawang, you are just 30 km away from Bhutan and China.

Tawang is high up in the mountains, and the drive itself is an exquisite experience.

2. Walk Amidst the clouds in Bomdila

Traveling from Guwahati to Bomdila is not for the faint-hearted. Trust me, once you set foot in your destination, you shall forget all the troubles you had traveling. The monasteries here are epitomes of peace, and might help you connect with the universe better than anywhere else. The mountains, and the view they give to connect with you to tell, all is not right with the world.

Make sure to visit the living quarters of the local tribes, like the Monpa and the Aka.

The cave temples of Ziro are a sight for tired eyes, with the king of the mountains surrounding it and a fast-flowing river. The weather is sure to suit everyone’s tastes, being pleasant most of the year.

Ziro captures the spirit of Arunachal Pradesh. Getting lost in the Apatani plateau, interacting with the locals while shopping in the bazaars of old Ziro is the fate of most travelers here.

In Ziro, you can trek the Talley Valley or roam amidst the vast grazing grounds of Tayi Lapii, with the stunning visuals accompanying you on your journey. Ziro is tailor-made to suit solo travelers seeking detox from their busy lifestyles.

4.The Valleys of Pasighat

The region of Pasighat is home to The Daying Ering Wild Life Sanctuary where the rivers Dihang and Lohit meet the mighty Bramhaputra and the Penguin are the most popular places to visit in the town.

5. The Nuranang falls

The Nuranang waterfalls lie on the road connecting Tawang and Bomdila. This waterfall is at a height of 100 meters, and is also known as the Jang waterfalls. The best time to visit this falls is during the monsoons.

One of the most magnificent of manmade bridges, the Walong bridge fills your heart with a sense of satisfaction through its sheer beauty.

7. Scale the Gorichen!

One of the highest peaks of the state, Gorichen Peak is an adventurer’s dream. at a height of 22,500 feet, it is a challenging, but fruitful trek.

The view and the greenery/snow here fill you with a site to remember for ages.

8. Shopping in Itanagar!

Itanagar, the capital, is one of the most well-connected cities of Arunachal Pradesh.

While in Itanagar make sure to visit the local tourist hotspots, like the museum and the fort, but make sure to have time to shop in its deep markets.

Itanagar has some of the brightest people, and to fill yourself intellectually, mentally, physically and soulfully, take full advantage of visiting all the diverse, yet gorgeous parts of Itanagar.

9.Birdwatching in Sangti Valley

Within the burrows of the forests of Sangti valley, If you are lucky, or with an experienced guide, you may possibly see the recently discovered Bugun Liocichla, Himalayan Monal, or the very lovely Nuthatch,  Rufous-necked as well as Wreathed Hornbills, Fire-tailed Myzornis, Ward’s Trogon, Temminck’s Tragopan, and more than six species of Parrotbill,  Bengal Florican, Pied Harrier, and Blue-naped Pitta.

Basically a lot of beautiful birds, you wouldn’t see otherwise.

10.Sela Pass

Sela pass on the road to Tawang is on the banks of Paradise Lake. Driving through the pass at sunrise is supposed to let you experience divinity.
